When the cast iron is hot and the campfire is crackling, you can’t beat the sound of a Campfire Calzone sizzling over the flames. I got the crust perfectly golden brown, and the result was so good I literally told Mike I needed a minute alone. 😂

🍕 The Campfire Calzone Recipe
The Dough (Mix in a bag):
10 oz Bread flour
1 tsp Yeast
Pinch of salt
Water (Add slowly until you reach your desired dough consistency)
The Filling:
Pepperoni
Cheese
Pizza sauce
The Method:
1 Stuff: Flatten out your dough and load up the center with your pepperoni, cheese, and pizza sauce.
2 Seal: Fold the dough over the ingredients and tightly crimp the edges to seal it shut.
3 Cook: Drop the calzone into a hot, well-oiled pan over the fire.
4 The Payoff: Fry it until the outer crust is perfectly golden brown and crispy. Use a knife or fork to poke into the center of the calzone to check for doneness. If it pulls out clean it’s ready. If it pulls out with dough still on the utensil it needs a few more minutes.
